Learning with Heatherfield Heritage
At Heatherfield Heritage, we believe that history and heritage are at their best when they can be shared, experienced, and enjoyed. Our learning programme is designed to engage both the wider public and organisations such as schools, museums, and councils who are keen to make heritage accessible.
We offer a variety of opportunities to learn with us:
Live demonstrations – See traditional skills in action, from canal art painting to boat handling and harness repair, bringing heritage to life in a vivid and memorable way.
Talks and lectures – Engaging presentations on our historical research, cultural heritage, and the stories behind the skills. Suitable for community groups, educational settings, or formal events.
Workshops and teaching – Hands-on sessions where participants can try out crafts and techniques for themselves, building practical understanding as well as appreciation.
Digital learning – Short YouTube documentaries and online talks that extend access to heritage beyond the local area.
Whether it’s a community day, a school project, or part of a council-led heritage initiative, we tailor our approach to suit the audience. Our goal is to inspire curiosity, preserve endangered knowledge, and ensure that heritage is a living, shared experience rather than just something to read about in books.
